Rebroken
Sometimes I imagine myself
unbroken. As if
I needed to be
flawless and aethereal
to be loved. As if
that was why
you loved me.
In my dream, a smarter version
of me catches themself
and they wonder aloud:
"Where are those who will sit
with fear and uncertainty
and not flee
in the face of a queer god?"*
